From First Indigenous Founder to Raise a Series A to Becoming a VC Leader | With Betsy Fore

Betsy Fore is the Founding Partner of Velveteen Ventures, investing in children and the planet for the next seven generations. She is the first Native American (Turtle Mountain Chippewa) woman to raise a Series A, and has been recognized by Entrepreneur’s 100 Women of Impact, Cosmopolitan’s New C-Suite, Chief’s Top 50 Execs, the Power100 in Venture Capital, and Forbes 30 Under 30.

A three-time founder, Betsy built two multi-million-dollar brands — including Tiny Organics, which she scaled from $0 to $13M+ in two years, and WonderWoof, a pet wearable that landed on Oprah’s Favorite Things and in retailers worldwide. Her products have been featured in Vogue, Wired, WSJ, and TechCrunch. She previously helped build Mind Candy, growing Moshi Monsters to 90M users, and began her career inventing toys for Mattel and Hasbro.

She is an investor at XFactor Ventures and LongJump, serves on multiple boards, and is the co-founder of Natives Rising, one of the largest communities of Indigenous technologists and founders. Her debut book, Built on Purpose, launches November 2025 with HarperCollins.
